Which healing potion to make
There are three healing potions: Minor (T2), regular (T4) and Major (T6). They all make 5 potions per craft, but they are not equally worth making:
| Potion | Ingredients for 5 | Sells for | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|
| Minor Healing (T2) | 8 Arcane Agaric | about 200 | Loses money: the 8 herbs are worth more than the 5 potions. Sell the agaric instead. |
| Healing (T4) | 24 Crenellated Burdock, 6 Hen Eggs | about 1,800 | Small profit, only with focus. A fallback if foxglove seeds get expensive. |
| Major Healing (T6) | 72 Elusive Foxglove, 18 Goose Eggs, 18 Potato Schnapps | about 8,300 | The one to make. The best margin and around 30,000 sold a day across the Royal cities and Brecilien. |
This guide follows the Major Healing Potion. Every potion in the game uses the same steps.
The recipe
At today's prices one craft's ingredients are worth about 48,500 silver: about 36,000 in foxglove (500 each), 5,800 in goose eggs (320 each) and 6,700 in schnapps (370 each). The foxglove is most of the cost, which is why growing it yourself matters.
Step 1: grow the foxglove
- Check your access. The island owner has to give you rights to the herb gardens (and a chest, so you can store herbs between trips). Without them you can't plant or harvest.
- Buy Elusive Foxglove seeds (T6). They cost about 17,000 each; Lymhurst and Thetford usually have the cheapest listings. A herb garden plot holds 9 seeds.
- Plant all 9 in each herb garden and come back about 22 hours later.
- Harvest. Each seed gives 3 to 6 foxglove (4.5 on average), and premium doubles it. A plot gives about 81 foxglove with premium, or about 40 without. You also get most of your seeds back: 87% of the time without watering.
One plot with premium grows a little more than one craft's worth of foxglove (72) every day.
Step 2: water or not
Watering a plot with focus adds 26.67% to the seed return. For foxglove that takes it from 87% to 100%, so you never lose a seed. But the same focus could go into crafting, where it is worth a lot (next steps).
Step 3: buy the eggs and schnapps
- Goose Eggs: 18 per craft, about 320 each. Lymhurst has by far the most trading (about 100,000 a day), so it is easy to fill a buy order there.
- Potato Schnapps: 18 per craft, about 310 to 420. Bridgewatch and Brecilien are usually cheapest.
Place buy orders a day ahead instead of buying from the cheapest listing, and you save a few percent on every craft. If the island has geese, their eggs are free ingredients; if you have spare focus and potatoes, you can cook schnapps yourself.
Step 4: craft in Brecilien with focus
Where you craft decides how many ingredients come back after each craft (the return rate). Brecilien has a +15% bonus for potions on top of every city's 18%, the best in the game for alchemy:
| Where you craft | Return rate | Real cost per potion |
|---|---|---|
| A Royal city, no focus | 15.3% | about 8,200 |
| Brecilien, no focus | 24.8% | about 7,300 |
| A Royal city, with focus | 43.5% | about 5,500 |
| Brecilien, with focus | 47.9% | about 5,050 |
One craft costs 768 focus before specialization, so 10,000 focus covers 13 crafts (65 potions). Leveling Alchemy for healing potions on the Destiny Board cuts that focus cost, so the same focus covers more crafts.
- Bring 72 foxglove, 18 goose eggs and 18 schnapps per craft to the Alchemist's Lab in Brecilien.
- Turn on Use focus and craft as many as your focus allows.
- Put the returned ingredients straight back into the next craft. That is where the 47.9% comes from.
Step 5: where and how to sell
- Lymhurst and Fort Sterling usually pay the most: about 8,300 to 8,400 on sell orders, with about 5,000 to 6,000 sold a day in each.
- Brecilien sells the most (about 10,000 a day) but cheaper, around 7,000 to 7,300. It is the easy option when you craft there and don't want to haul.
Potions are light, so carrying a stack from Brecilien to a Royal city is cheap. Use sell orders (listings) rather than selling to the highest buy order: with premium a sell order costs 6.5% (4% tax and a 2.5% setup fee), while buy orders sit about 1,500 to 2,000 below. Undercut the cheapest listing by a little and relist every day or two.
What a day makes
With premium, focus and crafting in Brecilien, selling in Lymhurst at about 8,300:
| Each potion sells for, after fees | about 7,760 |
| Each potion really costs (Brecilien, focus) | about 5,050 |
| Profit per potion | about 2,700 |
| Profit per craft (5 potions, 768 focus) | about 13,500 |
| One day's 10,000 focus (13 crafts, 65 potions) | about 175,000 |
That profit counts your own foxglove at its market price, because you could sell it instead. On top of it, each herb plot with premium earns about 20,000 a day just by growing. Because about half of each craft comes back, 13 crafts use only about 490 fresh foxglove, roughly 6 plots' worth. On a smaller island, buy the rest on the market.
Without focus the margin almost disappears (about 460 a potion in Brecilien), so the focus is what makes this work. Spend it every day: focus stops at 30,000.

Mistakes that eat the profit
- Crafting without focus. It turns a 2,700 profit per potion into almost nothing.
- Not putting returns back in. The returned foxglove, eggs and schnapps are the profit; craft them again right away.
- Leaving plots empty. A plot that isn't replanted the day it is harvested loses a whole day of growth.
- Selling into buy orders. They pay 1,500 to 2,000 less per potion than a listing.
- Letting focus cap. Above 30,000 your daily 10,000 is thrown away.
