Your first million silver
Beginner money paths that actually work, and the mistakes that eat your profit.

What to expect
There is no secret button. Community guides in 2025–2026 put early gathering at roughly 300,000 to 1 million silver an hour in low-tier zones, rising with tier and danger. Patches regularly change monster silver drops (Dragonfire's first patch, September 2026, cut them back), so the reliable money is in the economy: gathering, refining and trading.
A first million usually takes a few evenings. The path below gets you there without risking more than you can lose.
Step 1: gather
- Pick one resource (ore, wood, fiber, hide or stone) and level its gathering line on the Destiny Board.
- Gather in blue and yellow zones first: nobody can take your load there.
- Premium adds 50% to gathering yield, which is the single biggest boost to early income.
- Higher tiers are worth much more per trip; push to T4 and T5 as soon as you can.
Step 2: refine what you gather
Raw resources sell for less than the refined version. Refining in that resource's bonus city returns about 37% of your raw resources (54% with focus), so you get more refined goods out than a straight conversion would suggest.
To refine a tier you also need one refined resource of the tier below (for example T5 leather needs T4 leather), so keep a few of each lower tier, or refine your way up the chain.
Step 3: put your silver to work
Once you have a few million, your silver can start earning without you gathering:
- Refining runs: buy raw resources, refine in the bonus city, sell. Size the run to what the market can actually absorb.
- Same-city flips: buy with a buy order, resell with a sell order. Slow but safe.
- Hauling: buy cheap in one Royal city, sell in another, through safe zones.
Mistakes that eat beginner profit
- Comparing prices before tax. A 5% margin disappears once the 4–8% sales tax and 2.5% listing fee are taken.
- Relisting to undercut. Every edit charges the 2.5% fee again.
- Refining or crafting more than sells. 4,000 of something that sells 20 a day ties up your silver for weeks. Check daily sales first.
- Carrying your whole fortune through red zones. Split loads, or stay in safe zones until you can afford to lose one.
- Forgetting collected items. The market deletes anything left in Completed Transactions for 60 days.
- Trusting a single cheap listing. One unit at a crazy price is often bait. Look at the order book and the price history.
