Islands, farming and laborers
What a personal island earns, which crops pay, and when laborers are worth it.

Personal islands
A personal island is a small plot of land linked to a city, where you farm, keep animals, house laborers and run your own crafting stations. You need at least 7 days of premium to buy one, but it stays yours after premium ends. You can own one per city, and upgrade each up to level 6 for up to 16 plots.
An island linked to a city also gets that city's refining or crafting specialty bonus, but without the 18% base bonus a city station gives.
Crops and herbs
Each farm plot takes 9 seeds and grows for about 22 hours. Every seed yields a few crops, and premium doubles the harvest. Crops feed cooking (food) and herbs feed alchemy (potions), so their prices follow what fighters are eating and drinking.
Each Royal city also gives +10% farming output for one crop, one herb and one animal, so where your island is matters a little.
Keeping your seeds
When you harvest, there is a chance to get seeds back. Watering a plot with focus raises that chance. Cheap crops like carrots return far more than you planted when watered, while expensive ones like pumpkins only just pay their seed back.
Animals
Animals grow on pastures and kennels, and premium doubles how fast they grow. Grown animals can be butchered for meat or kept as mounts, and breeding them with focus gives a chance at offspring. Since the Dragonfire update (August 2026) animals grow at the same speed on islands and in the Outlands.
Laborers
Laborers live in houses on your island. Give one a full journal and it returns resources about 22 hours later. A laborer can't take a journal above its own tier, and new ones start at T2, so you level them or buy higher contracts.
Collect returns within 7 days: uncollected laborer returns are deleted.
