Focus explained
The free resource most players waste: what it does, where it pays most, and how specs stretch it.

What focus is
Focus is a resource for production: refining, crafting and farming. With premium you get 10,000 focus every day, up to a maximum of 30,000. Without premium you don't earn it.
What it actually does
Spending focus on a craft adds +59% to your production bonus (confirmed in the game's data files). A higher production bonus means more of your resources come back after each craft, which is called the return rate. The formula is simple: return rate = bonus / (1 + bonus).
| Refining where | Without focus | With focus |
|---|---|---|
| A city without the resource's bonus | 15.3% | 43.5% |
| The resource's bonus city | 36.7% | 53.9% |
At 53.9%, more than half of your raw resources come back after every craft and get refined again. That is the difference between a refining run that breaks even and one that clearly profits. Focus also raises crafting quality and farm yields.
Where to spend it
- Refining in the bonus city is the classic use: each item costs little focus and the return rate jumps.
- Crafting gear uses far more focus per item (a T4 sword costs about 1,286 focus with no specialization, against 54 for a T4 bar), so only do it in lines you have specialized in.
- Farming: watering a plot of crops with focus raises the chance of getting seeds back.
Making it last: specialization
Leveling a refining or crafting specialization on the Destiny Board lowers the focus each craft costs. Every 10,000 points of focus cost efficiency halves the cost. Fully specializing a refining line gives 40,000 efficiency for T4–T8, so each refine costs one sixteenth of the base:
| Refine | No spec | Fully specialized |
|---|---|---|
| T4 | 54 | 3 |
| T6 | 164 | 10 |
| T8 | 503 | 31 |
What a point of focus is worth
It depends on prices, which is why it changes daily. It is usually somewhere between a few tens and a few hundred silver per point. Multiply by 10,000 a day and focus alone can be worth a few hundred thousand to a few million silver a day, which is a big part of whether premium pays for itself.
